"If G-D gave the Torah today to western civilization" it would look different" Seriously?!? (Just one of the few)
So I just watched and yeah he quoted the rambam to say that we had karbanos because it was a way to channel our urge to slaughter animals to appease gods, this was a t'aiva that people had back in that day but no longer have. So yeah the theorizing about "IF the torah was given today -- there wouldn't be karbanos" is in line with that rambam and not k'fira imo.

I think you misunderstood.

I didn't watch it now but I vaguely remember it from when it came out.

He wasn't saying the Torah should change/adapt to modern times.
IIRC his point was that the Torah was given based on the situation and the values/morals of the time, so if the Torah was given today, with the values/morals of mankind being what they are, the Torah would be different than what it actually is which based on the morals/values of 2300 years ago.
(One issue I have with that is that modern day values are mostly based on the Torah)

That's why I said
The real question is what G-d did.
because I think the root of the question is really about how you view the Torah as it was given.

No such thing as a logical explanation when it comes to G-d.
This seems to be a difference between Judaism and Catholicism.

Didn't know that. Judaism doesn't believe in "logical explanation"?

I think Rabbi Nathan Lopes Cardozo discusses not identifying the text of our Chumash as the essential form of the Torah in the beginning of The Torah As God's Mind: A Kabbalistic Look Into the Pentateuch (published by Neve Yerushalayim in 1988, a time when I assume he was less controversial).

I'll give it a shot, and see what I think of both his and your opinions.

It started when Michael's book came out I believe and turned into a running gag. Ben was pretending to be bitter that he didn't think of it first.

Ben got the words wrong.

ETA: He actually corrects it after he plays the song.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

He corrects himself later.
