years ago my father returned used and worn lands end shirts for a somewhat silly reason. My mother was " far too embarrassed" but he did it anyway. Afterwards they sent him a thank you letter. I think you are right but I just wanted to check if returning stains or other type of damage was common and acceptable in which case maybe I would take advantage.
