UPDATED: The Hilton Aspire credit card from American Express now comes with two semi-annual $200 credits, one each half a calendar year, which can be used towards room rates, taxes, spas, meals, and other incidentals at any of the 200+ hotels listed here.

Map view of all resorts here.

There are three ways to purchase someone's credit for use towards your room rate:

1)Use their card to book a prepaid rate online

2) Have them make you an AU and then use that card to pay for your room at check-in

Obviously, option 1 is more desirable than 2, or

3) Have the buyer send you a personalized link that pays to the resort.

Which is obviously the best.

Pretty sure it goes per account year not calendar year on resort fee
It does, but there probably are many who just got the card, myself included, and it's always better to sell earlier rather than later as value goes down with expiration/desperation

It might be useful to add some names of resorts with relatively low room rates. People will probably be more inclined to buy/use these if they know they can save whatever % on their whole reservation, whereas if they're staying at a hotel where room rates are high, saving x% on $250 of their reservation may only come out to a very small % savings on their whole reservation.

For example, TPG mentioned the Tropicana Law Vegas where (acc to TPG) room rates are around $100, so you could get 2-3 nights for not much more than a $250 credit, which means a buyer can save that % on their whole reservation.

Am I making any sense here? I feel like there must've been a simpler way to say what I wanted to say :)

Selling one at 75%

P.S. This only works if you are staying in the hotel, right? I assume I can't just go use a spa in a Hilton hotel and apply the credit.

prepaid rate online
It's a very much YMMV when arriving at the hotel and they may or may not ask you for the card.
Unless you can add a 2nd person to the reservation which would now be an excuse for not having the card?

Does the resort credit go by the card member year or by the calendar year?

Does the $250 credit work in year 1 or only on renewal - language isn’t clear on the Amex website as one spot references “on renewal” and the other section doesn’t mention the renewal piece. Thank you

You’re right it’s unclear, but it does work in year 1.
