UPDATED: The Hilton Aspire credit card from American Express now comes with two semi-annual $200 credits, one each half a calendar year, which can be used towards room rates, taxes, spas, meals, and other incidentals at any of the 200+ hotels listed here.

Map view of all resorts here.

There are three ways to purchase someone's credit for use towards your room rate:

1)Use their card to book a prepaid rate online

2) Have them make you an AU and then use that card to pay for your room at check-in

Obviously, option 1 is more desirable than 2, or

3) Have the buyer send you a personalized link that pays to the resort.

Which is obviously the best.

I want to ask what the people here think...
Someone requested to buy from me 11 resort credits, to be paid 50% as soon as I send in the Forms filled out, and the rest when everything processes. After I filled out all the form and sent it in, the hotel requested more information filled out (Than usually they want) i did that too. For some reason the hotel said that they can't accept only 1 form and they charged that credit card.

The buyer tried again by dividing into 3 reservations and sent in 3 forms, Then the hotel said they suspect fraud and they won't accept the forms....So the buyer went and cancelled the whole stay (even the form they did charge).

The buyer is requesting to get refunded in full even though he feels bad that i put in a lot of time into this, but he said it's not his fault, It's the hotels, and he also put in a lot of effort i said I'm not sure what the right thing to do is, but I do feel that I deserve some compensation.

What do you guys think?
Just my opinion, as someone who does a lot of transactions here. This happens from time to time. You put in the effort to make a sale and it didn't go thru. He doesn't owe you for it. It's just bad luck. It may be right for him to compensate you, but he definitely doesn't owe you. Just my opinion.
Now, how did you get 11 resort credits?  :)

I did multiple for one stay. I added them to my portfolio, not as nights payment.

Not sure of the timing here, but I'm planning to cancel my card in about 10 days.  If that timing works and I'll be fully reimbursed, offering 1 @45% OBO.

The question was if it's considered trying to make a sale that doesn't go through, Or making multiple bookings and the guy cancelling, I don't want to argue with the buyer and prob will refund, I just thought that i deserve some compensation...

The guy is paying you for charging your card, and that never happened.

What about the card that did go through? that he wants to cancel because he doesn't want the whole reservation with only 1 credit used

Didn't realize that part. I'd think if he can cancel and the charge gets refunded, he doesn't owe you. Unless he paid you already.

Again, just my opinion.

Nothing personal. I've had similar situations and they're annoying, but I didn't think the guy owed me anything.

Then I'd think he bought it off of you. And if he wants he can use it for something else or find you a different buyer. Didn't realize that part.

I think I'll jump in here and add some clarification from my side of the story  as well in regards to where things went wrong.

Ultimately, the hotel suspected that we were engaging in sort of fraud by trying to submit multiple credit authorization forms.
They requested pictures of the IDs and credit cards for each form that was sent in. I proposed this as an alternative to cancelling the reservation multiple times. We both were a bit skeptical that this would even work given the difficulties in dealing with the hotels accounting department so I proceeded to cancel the reservation so I could get my money returned. I've been coordinating with the accounting department at the hotel to get the refund processed on the card that was charged and made it clear in my messages that I didn't expect that portion of the payment returned until the hotel processed your refund.

Just a heads up for FWIW - I just returned from the Hilton PDC and it is under major construction with 72% of the rooms being renovated and construction going on throughout the resort.  Jackhammering all day (and into the night) long.  Lobby was closed due to construction and they literally had a tent set up for checkin.  And due to the low occupancy, they closed at least 50% of the restaurants so eating was limited.

Final nail in the coffin was they have no loyalty to lifetime Hilton Diamond (no special amenities given whatsoever) and constant pedaling of their place as a Timeshare.

Again FWIW.

How are people who buy, using the card at the hotel?
