before you cancel if you have another chase card open, transfer the credit line. I t will give you more leeway in the future

Just make sure they've actually posted to your BA account (check on BA.com) before cancelling.

Once I cancel the BA card, what is the best way to keep BA miles active (without actually flying)?

Have your next hotel stay (Hilton, Starwood, Radisson, Marriott etc), car hire (Avis, Hertz) credit to your BA account, transfer a few SPG or Priority Club miles, or put your BA number against your next AA flight.

You've got 3 years to worry about that.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

How long has it been since you were charged?

Is there a way to combine 2 BA accounts that are in different names (mine and wife)? Or a way to just transfer BA miles from one acct to another?

Yes, BA allows household accounts.

right, but you can't book for "friends" who are not part of your household.  Is there a way to combine or 100% transfer to one acct?

does your BA miles stay even after chase closes down your account? chase closed down my account yesterday. i lost all my ultimate rewards but my BA miles still show to be there. should i be worried that they are going to take that away too?
