Hertz rental towed
« on: July 17, 2018, 06:20:03 PM »
My friends rented a jeep and we went off road-ing and got stuck in a ditch and where towed out, the towing company told us that if they take it, Hertz will pay for it and it won't cost us a penny...
Questions:
#1 is this true that Hertz will pay?
#2 we are stranded without a car, can we force Hertz to bring us a car? And how?

FYI: the primary renter has PC and we rented the car using the BP (paying for primary insurance) can amex help out in any way?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

#1: no, Hertz won't cover a cent. You breeched the TOS by going off road.
#2: Your best bet is to use some other sort of roadside (Ie from BP) of its still drivable when it comes out of the ditch.

UPDATE:
Hertz ended up picking up the car and closed the contract at a different location, and charged us for a one way fee for 8 days so I called and the took off one week as we only had the jeep for one day and they couldn't do anything about the one way fee b/c that's where it was dropped off (even though we did not drop it off there)

AND BEST OF ALL WE DID NOT PAY FOR THE TOWING, HERTZ PAID FOR IT!!!

B"H it all worked out for the best!!
