Update- YES!!!!!! They called me back, a nice lady named kaitlyn, i missed the call so she left me a voicemail with her direct number (good to have for future), they APPROVED me for the Premier upon receiving my letter... i didn't even have to talk to them, she told me it was already approved 2 days ago, she was just letting me know. Wow! I was a skeptic but now I am a believer in the magic of the Stork...

I thought you may have gotten it within the the same week which would have been very interesting. Glad you were approved.

I applied for the citi premier thank you card today and they are saying app is pending and I should wait for 7-10 days for a letter to get a decision, I went online and it says pending review...

Is there anything I can say that could get them to speed it up and get a decision/hopefully approval earlier?

I would write a letter to Stork. sounds funny, i was skeptical, but it worked for me.

Here's text of the letter I wrote:

Dear Mr. Stork,

Thank you for reading this letter.

I recently applied for a Citi ThankYou Premier credit card, and was denied. Please can you reconsider this?

I have an excellent credit history and credit score. I also have NEVER missed a payment on a credit card, I pay every balance in FULL, and I utilize a low percentage of my available credit. I have a diverse portfolio of credit cards and have been a perfect, model customer. The risk of approving me is very low.

I specifically like the Citi ThankYou Premier card because of the amazing bonus categories to earn extra points on travel and gas. I live in New Jersey and commute to New York a lot, which is a 3 hour round trip, so that would be really great for me. Also, no foreign transaction fees is great for when I’m abroad.
Please reconsider my application to approve me for this credit card. I would really appreciate it.

some applications say not eligible for bonus if you had the bonus in the last 18 months.

I don't think its a good idea to stork for the bonus.

I have been declined every time I apply for a citi card due to too much activity on my credit file. I have never called up recon - will it help? Anything else I can do?

You can try to chat with them--sometimes they just need to verify some more information which they can usually do over chat. I recently did it with my Prestige app.

Hmm, it was the normal chat under "contact us". I just said "I recently applied for the citi prestige, can you take a look at my application". Maybe it depends on the reason it went pending.

You can Chat on the phone also ! You know , like chatting someone up , getting friendly , winning over
