was denied for the citi prestige called recon and they told me ill receive a letter
anyone had success closing a cc and shifting the cl in order to get approved for a new card with citi?
worked with Barclays

Anybody have a link to chat to recon? I previously found a link online to a team that could discuss apps, but now the reps are responding that they can't chat about apps and I need to call in.

Just applied for the Citi Hilton HHonors card (75k signup) was declined online because of too many recent inquiries.(I have 9 on my report) Called Application Status # and rep told me nothing to do. I asked for supervisor she took her time reviewing app but still declined me. I called the Recon # and they right off told me that the app was reviewed by 2 people already and declined. I told her I have a relationship with Citi (2 mortgages) and really want this card. She said she will speak to supervisor and made me wait 15 min. and approved me in the end.

Interesting that you have 9 inquiries on your report, since in NJ (I'm assuming that's where you're from based on your username) Citi usually pulls from EQ and EQ should really only have Citi pulls on their and nothing else. Have you applied for so many Citi cards recently?

I applied for Citi cards but not 9. I just checked and EQ only has 5 credit pulls. One from Capital One and 4 from some entity called Credit Plus. BTW I just leased a car and my TU report has a pull both from the dealer and the car manufacturers leasing co. Why?

I meant what credit banks don't usually pull from TU besides for Citi. Mortgages, car leases, etc. are a different story.
