Many people have also had better luck writing to the office of the President for reconsideration on Citi cards:

Is it regular for citi to ask you to send a confirmation of ss and dob with sig before continuing to process the application? Is that a good sign or bad one?

Normal process. No sign either way

Is Citi recon open nights/weekends? Any reason to wait until Monday to apply? Thanks.

Today Citi is telling me they won't pull EQ and that I have to give them the EX PIN or thaw it. Two calls to two different numbers.

Anyone have this before? Suggestions?

Its a Prestige app.

Yes. IME the best thing is to unfreeze it yourself.

Maybe it depends on the state. What state are you in?

CA.

4 HUCAS and finally the last rep was more than willing to pull Equifax. Each call yielded a representative from a different state call center. The last one was Maryland. The first one was Kentucky. I don't remember the other two.

Interesting. Happy to hear it worked for you. After all that, were you approved?

Yes I was approved after I received the initial denial letter and called recon to find out I inadvertently left a zero out of my stated income. Once corrected, I was immediately approved.

no the rule with Citi is as follows: day 1 you can get a card. Then you have to wait until day 8 to get the second card. Then you must wait until day 65 to apply for the third. They will not let you get around these guidelines

Just got denied after calling in.  Not sure why - rep says to wait for mail in 7-10 days.  It looked like the same number and everything I used to call to shift credit around.

Last applied for citi 8/12 and the previous one 6/20.  I should be ok according to the 8/65 rule.

Will post an update when letter arrives. Not sure what I should do now. Any ideas?

When did you apply? And is this your only Hilton card from Citi?

Someone on another forum said that when calling the automated application status line, a decision in "7-10 days" is likely rejection, whereas "within 30 days" will likely lead to approval. Do you guys agree with this?
