thats the message I just got from Citi, should I just wait it out? Or is it worth calling?

Call . It’s probably a request for
Address or income verification .
If you do nothing you will receive
snail mail that they stopped
considering your application

They may call you back at a verifiable phone
and approve you right after that .

What does a citi denial for cc for the reason: "credit privileges on your existing account are currently restricted" really mean?

Just got denied for "too many inquiries".
The only other inquiry I have in the last 2 years is from Chase on the same day as Citi (MBM). The recon agent also told me she sees an inquiry from JP Morgan from today.
I thought the banks aren't supposed to see the other pulls for a few days.
Is this something new?

I don't know for sure but I believe the credit bureaus have increasingly been getting this data in real-time (or pretty close to it) so what you're describing is certainly possible

HUCA'd and got the same response. The agent was very nice but said it is a hard rule that he has no way to overturn or even reconsider.
May be time for a PSA: If you do a MBM, submit CITI first.

On the bright side, when I realized Citi wasn't happening, I did a couple AMEX even tough I was planning on skipping AMEX this round. Both were instant approval!

Too bad didn’t read this thread first. Applied first for venture X and then citi premier a few hours later, and got an auto rejection for first time from citi.

Yeah I got rejected for this card somewhat recently as well. I’ve seen some reports that Citibank is being tighter with approvals for this particular card.

My wife was denied for Citi Prestige - called reconsideration was told by rep her credit lines at other banks are not being utilized so he cannot approve the application.
Any ideas or DP on reasoning that may overcome this?

same thing, too much unused credit, only citi can come up with an excuse like that

Both DW and myself got declined for too much credit. Any point in calling recon?
