My wife was denied for Citi Prestige - called reconsideration was told by rep her credit lines at other banks are not being utilized so he cannot approve the application.
Any ideas or DP on reasoning that may overcome this?

same thing, too much unused credit, only citi can come up with an excuse like that

Sure. Ask them transfer over credit from existing accounts.

I was also just told I have too much unused credits and too many unused accounts. Is this a new thing for citi?

Applied for second premier card. Was denied instantly. Called recin, was told nothing to do but wait for letter bec. I already had premier card open. And bec. I had a late payment in last six months. She called back a short while later and left a message saying she was able to change their decision and I was approved

she asked why I wanted a second one. I said I want one for my wife. she recommended making her an AU. "oh, I can make her an AU?"
I was pleasant and asked her to clarify a few times why she couldn't overturn the decision....
Don't know if it makes a difference, I called around 9:00 A.M. EST and was connected right away to a friendly, somewhat intelligent sounding CSR.
