Many people have also had better luck writing to the office of the President for reconsideration on Citi cards:

does anyone have experience being approved for a second citi card on recon when the denial reason was too many inquiries?   or do they just pull your report again and repeat themselves?
Pretty sure this thread should just be renamed citi recon sucks...

lol have to agree on that.   trying to decide whether or not it's worth another pull on EQ for the recon...   they don't really sound like they're interested in working with you to get things approved

they don't really sound like they're interested in talking to you at all about your application.

You're SOL if the reason is too many inquiries. They wouldn't budge even after I sent a letter to the executive office.

Citi recon might suck worse than Barclays

I did 2BM on Citi (Hilton Reserve Visa & AA Mastercard) yesterday. Hilton Reserve approved after calling (not recon, got a message to call, when I did they approved immediately). AA was pended, called recon today and they said declined due to multiple applications in a single day.

The rep said it's their policy to only accept ONE application in a 60 day period - is that new? Is that true?

I applied for the plat AA card and I got the status pending. So I called them up and I was told they need more time to review and I should get an answer in a week. So I called again and again and they keep on telling me that. Any ideas in how to push it through?

Now they told me that they are mailing me something to verify items in my credit report. What does that mean?

Yes.  Citi has a policy that every time you call, they delay the decision on your application by 5 days.  Stop calling and wait.   ::)

I don't think that's true. They have such a policy with their biz cards, but not in general. I've read multiple reports of two successful apps over a two day period.

Executive office told me "1 in 60 something days".
