Many people have also had better luck writing to the office of the President for reconsideration on Citi cards:

Executive office told me "1 in 60 something days".
Personal or business?

So the annual fee just hit on my TY card and I called to cancel it and transfer the credit to my Hilton.  The rep told me they don't transfer credit lines at all.  Is that true?

What's a FICO score decline? I called recon. and asked them to reconsider the rep. tells me even if I would want to on my end there's a FICO score decline and that we can't override. :(

You can downgrade to a no AF card, or cancel

Do you have a low credit score? I have no idea, but perhaps that's what a "FICO score decline" means.

I just applied for 2 different citi cards at the same time (with 2 different browsers) and I got approved on one but denied on the other. I called recon and they said you can only get one a day. any ideas what I can do since even if I wait a few days im afraid they will deny when they see I got one a few days earlier
I need another 1 or 2 cards for balance transfers and im afraid to try chase because I have quite a few of their cards already. what other cards should I do besides chase and citi?

Is there a way to check application status through an automated system with Citi? Without having to speak to someone?

Yes. You should get an email for it if you entered your email address. If you still didn't get an email, then you were denied.

Blimey! No email that you applied even? Guess it was denied.

got a rejection for a business MC because I have "maximum account for an individual." i only have one personal account open with them and no business. Called and they said because I have had the business one before, even though I closed it in the end of 2011, more than 18 months ago. The supervisor claimed can't have it again within two years and that has always been the policy. Tried HUCA and next rep saw notes that already spoke to supervisor and couldn't help. Any advice?

Is writing stork for business too or just personal?

Thanks!

got them to reconsider my wife's which was denied for same reason, and then I told the rep that agreed to do that what happened with my app so she resubmitted that for reconsideration as well. Now mine shows online as pending, until now it was officially denied, so hopefully will know sooon. but all of the reps I spoke to were adamant that its 18 months from the time closed (exept the first guy who insisted it was 2 yrs), and we're only willing to reconsider because they say the last time I had it was more than that, or very close to it...
