Child turning 2 during trip and no ticket on return please help!

Booked Flights JFK-GVA-ZRH with Swiss, return ZRH-DUS-JFK with Lufthansa.

Have only an infant-Lap ticket for my baby but he's being 2 on the return (DOB is off with a few days) and flight is full

While Searching I didn't know my child is turning 2 during trip but when I started to enter the details there was an error so I tried to re-search but tickets were no longer available so I finished my booking with DOB moved up a few days...

Any advice would be appreciated!!

That’s the price you’ll have to pay. There are a few other airlines you can consider that’ll give free seats if child turns two mid trip. BA for example IIRC

Can't cancel old tickets and have to buy new ones for 3 times the price I'll rather not go...

Mistake? There were no seats when you booked so you tried to circumvent the system and now realized that it was no smart. At best try to HUCA with Lufthansa, maybe they can pull some strings or try the airline you booked with to see if they can let you cancel without a fee (convince them that they can actually sell the seats for more).
