Most do anonymous. Some famous raffles like oorah are not but you know what your getting yourself into beforehand.

I have gotten a ton of PMs of people asking be kept anonymous if they win. I think that doing the raffle live with some personal info blocked out would be perfect. That would maintain both anonymity and credibility.

Keep in mind that some ppl may not want the prize traceable to them. Say, by the IRS. for better or for worse. And even a handle can be traced for most ppl.

Also keep in mind that the winnings are FULLY taxable per anyone.

It doesn’t. But some ppl may want the prize as untraceable as possible if they choose not pay the 9k or so in taxes...

In any case, what credibility are we trying to uphold here? That they did indeed do the raffle? Easily provable, if somebody asks. That we didn't rig it? Live drawing solves that. That there actually was a real winner? Again, easily provable.

Even better - Facebook live it and contact the winner and stream the audio. May take 30 minutes to get ahold but imo that can allay concerns.

Lol oorah does this. I actually was listening to it once (never again) and heard a friend of mine win tickets to Israel.
