Paying your taxes with a credit card

Around tax time Dan suggested to pay your taxes with Freedom unlimited as it give you 1.5 points. it cost 1.87%. I did it and i forgot what he said to get more then the amount it cost me. I have to book an airline flight how do i maximize the points.

If you have a Sapphire Reserve, your points are worth 1.5 cents when booking with Chase.


If you don't have the SR, how about an Ink? You need a card the allows you to transfer points to airlines, then you can book on the airline website- if there's award availability.

I got the 1.5 but it cost Me 1.87 how do i maximize the points to earn more the 1.87

i know about trf to sapphire then buying airline tix for less points then cash i wanted to know if there is any other way to maximize my points
