El Al JFK-TLV delay this Saturday Night

Does anyone know why the El al flight from JFK-TLV this past Motzei shabbos (tisha b’av) was delayed by over 6 hours?

Probably pilot shortage. They are stretched very thin this summer

That’s pretty messed up. I’m flying the same flight this coming Saturday night. Is there any way to know in advance if they will have staffing issues? I imagine that their schedule is published a few days in andvance? Any insiders on here who can share?

They have staffing issues and scramble to reassign pilots less than 24h before flights. It may be the reason they aren’t launching the SF route (profitability isn’t a factor in their minds anyways)
