Can't park, can't drive

So I got a temporary street parking permit from the city clerk's office while I register my car.
Then I went and registered my car at the RMV. (RMV? Why the blazes can't you call it a DMV like a civilized state?)
They gave me new plates.
One problem. My temporary parking permit is only good with my old plates. So now I am either parking illegally or driving illegally.

Blazes durn it!
