Sears warranty is great, and you could go to any Sears with issues.

Junk yards have some very good deals, I know someone who got 4 tires from a totaled car with under 1000 miles for $200.

4 years and it is prorated, but still can be a good deal since the prices are good, and if something happens they will fix it for nothing. also they rotate and balance for free.

So I put a set of new tires on my car about a week ago (just on time! I live in Monsey and we just got hit with some pretty crazy snow).
I decided to spend a little more and got the GoodYear Assurance® ComforTred® Touring Tires. They are not the cheapest but they are a bit more comfy and have good milage (I get an average of about 450 miles a tank) and come with a 70K miles Limited Warranty. Plus I got a $80 online/mail-in rebate.

The warranty mens absolutely nothing!!! i bought a set of yokohama tires and after 10000 miles 2 tires went bald so i brought it back to the store who booked me an appointment with the shop that deals in warranties and they said its impossible to prove i didn't try to put them on a race car in between and ride them out and put it back on!!! He said most warranties on tires are a scam!

I had a similar story - when i brought the car to the "warranty shop" they said the tires are bald bec the alignment is off.
They had no proof, but I had no proof that it wasn't off. Even if I would go to a mechanic and get a letter, they would probably say that it was once messed up and I had it fixed.

They cost me 140 per tire (after rebate). No instalation cost and lifetime rotations. Got them @ Mrtire.

They told me pretty much the same about the warrenty. U need to keep up with the rotations (every six months) keep the proper tire pressure and the right allignement. All these are impossible to proof on paper so warrenty pretty much doesn't mean a thing. But I didn't buy them for the warrenty.
