So I just called firestone and they are charging 417 for four firestone affinity touring tires (they claim that it's a kid-grade tire, but does anyone know anything about these tires?) I can add 15.00 per tire for the road hazard warranty which covers me if I get a nail in the tire or something.

Also alignments are 80.00 bucks but 179.00 for unlimited alignments for the life of the car, so I assume I shod just get that, right?

And what does the road hazard cover?
If I accidentally drive over a nail will they fix it?
road hazzard covers anything that happens if you hit a pothole and destroy the tire its prorated if you drive over a nail they fix it

Ha! Sam's Club (which i thought would be cheaper) is charging $500 for goodyear tires (and that's with an $80 off coupon)
I guess firestone is the cheapest...

And I guess i'll also get the alignment package- 179.00 for unlimited alignments for the life of the car (that way i'll always get alignments and they can't void my warranty due to a bad alignment...)

According to one tire salesman, better tires mean a quieter, smoother drive and better MPG. Who knows...

sams club has $80 off 4 goodyear tires, i got the assurance max which is supposed to be decent, total including tax the lifetime rotations and road hazard for 440. if you prefer michelin, wait a month and the deal will be for michelins as it switches.
The rotations are good, as well as fixing flats for free at sams. The warranty not so good, they always get out of it somehow.

Sams Club always honors their warranty for me (unfortunately, I've had a lot of bad luck with nails in tires).  They will prorate the amount of the tire based on the amount of worn tread.

What kind of warranty?
Are you considering purchasing a warranty for new tires or want to get a warranty honored for old tires?

I am looking for a full set of tires for a Honda Accord. It looks like all the big stores charge 100 min per tire on the rim and out the door. Any one know of any better deals? Also how do you compare the quality of the inexpensive tires?

TIA

Sometimes there are good deals online for a full set of tires. It all depends on what brand of tires you want. And what year is your car?

Reading this thread explains why I'm leasing a van that I'll get rid of a 20k, 24 months.
I fix a flat for 5$ locally, never rotated, get oil changes at 8k.....
As I don't understand anything about cats and if it was my car thay would have a good candidate to ripoff.

So fear of being ripped off causes you to keep spending money and not owning a car? Interesting

It's not fear, it's the comfort of not having to do anything. No waiting on lines, no getting pricing. We all spend money on comfort, this is mine.

There are plenty expenses that go into leasing a car......disposition fees, bank fees, etc. and it's not your car.
