Wood
Pros: Cheap
Easy to change shape or size as your needs for space change
DIY - most people would be able to build it from scratch or make modifications (e.g. add windows)
Can be converted to chazzon ish (replace metal screws with peg screws)
Can integrate a schlock to the structure
Cons: Heavy, Can warp over time. (note: if you use enough fasteners and are also careful to assemble it balanced this can be minimized)
         Needs lots of storage space

Fiberglass
Pros: Easy Setup (on level ground)
Length/width is reconfigurable (you just need to buy a few 2x4 beams if you change layout)
Cons: Expensive
Greenhouse effect on hot days (need to budget for several open/shut windows)
Connection threads can become bent even with proper storage (need to budget for the odd panel replacement here and there)
         Can Crack or Break

Canvas
Pros: Setup in minutes
Cons: Not accepted by all poskim
         Poor protection from cold Weather
         Wind Can be bothersome.

You misunderstood. It is not something which is not a wall at all. It is one but is tluya. There are 2 ways to look at it either the latform is a floor and it starts there or the whole thing is wall and is just bent.
Finally you are actually trying to make an aurgument. (It's like squeezing blood outta stone sometimes...).

Your argument that the platform is a floor works according to most of the poskim to be mashlim 7*7. I don't agree that it automatically negates the issue of mechitza teluya. (It is a floor for internal spacial considerations. It is not the floor under the wall to make it not teluya.).

The two work together like rosh agalah. The main point is the poskim are very clear that they do not consider it to be a concern. Go through them.

Lol did you read what you actually posted? His first sevara is that it's not domeh because the wall is thick etc like I told you ^(not our case).
Then in brackets he gives a whole sevara lehokel in our case which I don't think is so poshut at all).
Eta, his rayos are very very shvach.

Eta2 looks like he is being mechadesh a new halacha lemoshe misiny of karka akuma. Meh.

Also, who is the writer of the bottom part?

This is sooo not a rosh agala... The reason why there is no "issue" of mechitza teluya by rosh agala is not merely because the gediyim are not bokeya into the succah; it is because the mechitza of the succa is NOT teluya at all. It is perfect and whole.
Incomparable to this case.

Bottom is same author as top.

The real point is the earlier poskim who don't even feel the need to discuss it and take it as poshut

No again, as you can see in the sefer quoted, the normal case, that is taken as a given, is when the wall is thick and is kulo sosum outside.

Our case is very unique, and I don't think we can just assume it's good without something clearer, or at least a good Raya. All these poskim are busy with 7*7 issues. They are not addressing dofen problems.

Since when do we say "well it's not discussed so must be fine"??

Did you look at the sources? They very explicitly discuss a daf this way and that. One is discussing beds with one board inside and one out around the sides. You should look at their cases before deciding what they are discussing. RSZ brings in bokim how is there bokim from the a wall getting thinner?

Kainus doesn't hold up in rain as well.
+2 gets water logged and moldy. Not suitable for USA

Knew I'd seen this.. anyway, here is RSZ brought down in back of sefer hasucca.
Let's analyze how his pesak applies to our case.

According to RSZ hav'a Amina the dofen is teluya and possul. (See the הערה there.)

According to his maskana, to be machshir we would need to call the van floor "karka hasuka"; but here, it's not even under secach, it's under a dofen akum that we can't sit under! And it's not בנוי ומחובר לקרקע etc
So I would still say it's not kosher...

Except that even in the hava amina he writes that if it is 7x7 it is fine. Also, there is no dofen akuma on the schach. It is less than 4 tfachim of pasul which you can sit under.

No. Read it again. He explicitly says that the width and length is 7*7 without the step.

Anyone have a good idea for turning a pergola into a sukkah? Looking for walls specifically that would be nice and breathable.

Size is around 16x20
