Wood
Pros: Cheap
Easy to change shape or size as your needs for space change
DIY - most people would be able to build it from scratch or make modifications (e.g. add windows)
Can be converted to chazzon ish (replace metal screws with peg screws)
Can integrate a schlock to the structure
Cons: Heavy, Can warp over time. (note: if you use enough fasteners and are also careful to assemble it balanced this can be minimized)
         Needs lots of storage space

Fiberglass
Pros: Easy Setup (on level ground)
Length/width is reconfigurable (you just need to buy a few 2x4 beams if you change layout)
Cons: Expensive
Greenhouse effect on hot days (need to budget for several open/shut windows)
Connection threads can become bent even with proper storage (need to budget for the odd panel replacement here and there)
         Can Crack or Break

Canvas
Pros: Setup in minutes
Cons: Not accepted by all poskim
         Poor protection from cold Weather
         Wind Can be bothersome.

So, I sketched out a design of a 15x15 sukkah what we could do in either PVC or metal:

We'd put wood beams across the top to lay the skach on top off. Any thoughts on this kind of a design?
Would recommend neither wood or PVC, rather metal emt conduit

EMT is quite flexible, especially the smaller cheaper sizes. It also needs lots of vertical support if you want it to take some weight.
A thicker/more rigid type of metal bar or conduit is better

What connectors would you at the joints? What will you use for the third or fourth walls? Lots more planning needed.

If it's takkeh 15x15 (which is pretty big, and also not reflected in the rectangular design you posted) you are going to need some center supports, a 15 foot span is quite weak in the middle.

also might be good to post the area where the 2 house walls will be used to get a better idea :)
(We just want to see your new backyard ;) )

I am not a professional, but I'm worried about the stability of it. What is stopping the top from twisting and collapsing? Shouldn't it have some diagonal supports? Or the space between should be filled in with something that will support pipes?

If I am making a small wooden Sukkah outdoors in backyard, any recommendations for good floor options, to put something down so we are not sitting directly on grass?

It's fabric
that doesn't preclude it from being modular.
the fabric is screwed onto a metal frame. each individual frame is screwed to the adjacent frame = modular

There technically isn't anything that can be called the "best sukkah". Just like there can't be a "best house" or "best car".

There are various factors that make a Sukkah good for you such as:
a) cheaper
b) more/less resilient to wind [cold/heat] or less resilient. (You may want the air flow in a hot place but not in a cold place or vise versa)
c) lighter
d) easily storable
e) longer lasting
f) less affected by wind (walls)
g) less buggy
h) taller/shorter
i) more private
j) better for placing decorations
k) bigger/smaller
l) reminiscent of your Zaidy's sukkah
m) Less problem of Geneiva
n) free delivery
o) easily put together
p) color
q) able to be left up all year round
r) more/less shady

Just beware that the grass will likely die. But winters coming either way so might not matter.
