Wood
Pros: Cheap
Easy to change shape or size as your needs for space change
DIY - most people would be able to build it from scratch or make modifications (e.g. add windows)
Can be converted to chazzon ish (replace metal screws with peg screws)
Can integrate a schlock to the structure
Cons: Heavy, Can warp over time. (note: if you use enough fasteners and are also careful to assemble it balanced this can be minimized)
         Needs lots of storage space

Fiberglass
Pros: Easy Setup (on level ground)
Length/width is reconfigurable (you just need to buy a few 2x4 beams if you change layout)
Cons: Expensive
Greenhouse effect on hot days (need to budget for several open/shut windows)
Connection threads can become bent even with proper storage (need to budget for the odd panel replacement here and there)
         Can Crack or Break

Canvas
Pros: Setup in minutes
Cons: Not accepted by all poskim
         Poor protection from cold Weather
         Wind Can be bothersome.

And just leave them on the wall year to year? Or remove them each year?
pull them out with a pliers and try to staple them in the same spot next year
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Is it generally safe for zip ties to go around the light fixture to hold it up.

It seems that one of the only sturdy travel sukas is the one by sukah center that costs $300… would it not be cheaper (other than the time to design a frame) to use a 3d printer to print it?

Which one is that?
I’ve got a 3D printer and I know 3D modeling

Are you sure about that. To me its an interesting shaila.
My walls only are held up because of gravity, friction, and other forces of nature. What about a wall that relies on electricity, air pressure, magnetism, or other forces to remain standing. Would that be kosher?

Figure I'll ask this now for next year. Best recommendation for comfortable sukkah bed? Cots were uncomfortable and got worse over time, air mattresses have a tendency to lose air overnight

I never had a good experience with cots or air mattresses either. Currently I have a very old mattress that is specifically for the sukka. I put a memory foam topper on it and its very comfortable. During the year I just keep it under one of the beds in my house. I find it to be a very good setup.

Hi, looking for some basic sukkah advice. We've moved to a new house with a large backyard and can build a large sukkah for the first time. We'll be here for many years BzH, so we want something that will last and be able to store.

We're thinking of putting the sukkah in an area in the backyard where we could use two adjacent house walls. This way, we basically don't need to worry much about walls and the important piece is the support frame structure for the schach.

Curious to get thoughts on pros and cons of PVC vs wood (or even metal), in terms of stability and longevity.

I'm not so handy, but I'm not into the pre-fabbed kits they sell. Plus, I think those kits would be a waste as we don't need a whole big canvas box, as we already have two walls using the house.

Any ideas for a DYI project that would be simple enough? I could always get help if need be.

Thank you very much.

Good idea, but it doesn't suit us. We've got a screened in enclosure in the back yard with tons of outdoor seating already, and don't want to take up more space of the lawn with a pergola.

So, I sketched out a design of a 15x15 sukkah what we could do in either PVC or metal:

We'd put wood beams across the top to lay the skach on top off. Any thoughts on this kind of a design?
