Where can I get a decent dinette table set that will last a good ten/twenty years, I'm not running a hotel doesn't have to be fancy, our glass table cracked after a hot pot was placed on it.

For $1000 You can probably find a low quality set brand new, but don’t expect it to last ten years. In fact, it will probably start falling apart after six months.

Twenty year sets are made of high quality solid wood and usually crafted in the U.S. or Europe. Expect those sets to start at $7,000 and up brand new. Your best bet would be to go to a few furniture stores and see what they have on the showroom floor.

This. Some of our best stuff comes from craigslist. you have to search for a while but dining room tables and baby room furniture you can find really good quality in excellent shape for very little $

I second this, scout Craigslist in more affluent neighborhoods, you will find wonders.

For dining room table, when we're eating on it we always have either placemats or tablecloth. Usually Tablecloth.
