Good cheap cell phone plan

I do not need data. Just either unlimited or 1200 min. + night and weekend.
I currently have prepaid $2 a day with AT&T.
I was told that I can do better. I am in the tri state.

H2o plan - runs off of AT&T service. i have it, cant say its the most amazing reception but its basically at&t. no monthly contract $40 a month unlimited talk & text as well as unlim text international. and $10 worth of calling internationally

you can also use Page Plus, MetroPCS or Boost they all have more or less the same plans, $40 unlimited Talk & Text No contract .

att go phone $50 unlimited with data(good coverage). There are a couple of companies that run on the verizon network that charge $40 a month as well,someone here might know the names. metro pcs is the largest of the relatively small companies(don't know about their coverage).

im not sure if you're able to do the same thing with verizon, but i know that at&t since its a sim card you can just buy a go phone and switch sim cards - but probably u can.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Verizon does not allow prepaids ever on Pageplus and not until its been used for 6 months for verizon postpaid.

Just need 1000+ minutes and texting. No data.
In the good old days we got great plans from Sprint for cheap. Looks like all those are gone.

Does anyone have Mertro PCS and is happy with the service in the tri-state area?

SIM cards don't work on Verizon. At&t and T-Mobile are the only US carriers that use GSM network technology which use SIM cards.

I know this is is not what your looking for but if anyone is looking for a unlimited talk text  AND data (up to 4G) plan  I would say the cheapest is with Simple Mobile for $60/ month.  Its a GSM prepaid plan running off T Mobiles towers. The only downside is that if you want a faster speed than Edge you will have to use a T Mobile phone.

If you are really in need to save money.
I suggest getting suggest using a refurbishment phone and swapping out the sim card. But before buying a refurbished phone check a compatibility lists first.
