I've seen F with Life miles more than 2 weeks out. Never tried booking though, so no comments if it's phantom or not.

That was a glitch / deal a few months ago. Itís not the standard for it to show to any partners, 15+ days out.

KRK-FRA-EWR LH 747 F, 5 hours connection - perfect for FCT, the only way to book more than 2 weeks out is with 85K LH + $270
Or
KRK-OSL-JFK Norwegian 787 Premium for $500.

I never flew F (although I do have BA F booked).
If I take the Norwegian I save myself the 85K LH for $230 more and still fly pretty comfortably for a day flight, and although I don't know when, hopefully I'll be able to fly LH F in the future, or do I take the LH because I now have the opportunity and וואס איז זיכער איז זיכער?

I would go with what may be the unpopular opinion here - option 2.

Itís a very good price for a premium product and the assurance that you have a ticket, instead of having to check within 15 days for *A partners.

Need to go to TLV sometime in the end of January and planning on booking using LM (I have my return booked on IB via the Avios deal, but didn't really want such a long layover in MAD on both ways).

Since I can't count on UA opening up space for the dates I need, I'm debating between taking LX and TK.

LX has a more convenient departure time out of NY (and right now availability on a preferred date, while TK is only available one day earlier with an early afternoon departure), but I really want to see/experience the new Istanbul airport (and lounge).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

what are your dates? I'm looking at the end of January as well and UA direct is a fortune right now.
Was debating the same.

Certainly, taking the morning flight from ZRH in the winter.

Not sure what you mean. I'm looking to spend any time in ZRH, this is strictly NYC-TLV, though if things align themselves a certain way, I might not mind spending a day in IST (almost did that on a recent trip, but decided against because we had an infant with us and DW wasn't sure about the weather etc., I actually regret not doing it), but that's not my initial plan. IST is actually one place that is on my bucket list, but I'm not really that focused on bucket lists in my life.

I meant to ask if the LX flight was real J all the way to TLV.

That's what I thought you asked. So I wasn't sure what you were talking about with morning ZRH flight.

The morning flight from ZRH-TLV might(/will) not be real J in the winter. So take that into consideration when choosing flights.

The morning flight from ZRH-TLV is often replaced with a narrow-body (A319/20) with fake J during the winter.

Being that I am booking a rev ticket.
I will most likely go with LX.
Since the Long hauls are on UA metal which I can upgrade.
TK is a bit cheaper ~$300 but leaves from JFK and longer stop evers

One not-so-good experience doesn't mean all experiences were bad. I've learned how to control the firmness of the seat, and which seats to avoid (easier when flying solo).
