Is EXP worse than GS? Would you have lounge access during the layover

What good is status with a bad airline?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

10.5K AA miles x 5 pax (Status: EXP)
AA CLE-ORD 8:13PM-8:55PM RJ145
AA ORD-MCI 10:10PM-11:42PM A320

Pros: Shorter travel time.
Cons: Riskier weather in the winter in ORD, RJ145 flight with no WiFi or E+, AA reliability.

10K UA miles x 5 pax (Status: GS)
UA CLE-IAH 6:35pm-8:50pm 737-700
UA IAH-MCI 9:35pm-11:35pm RJ175

Pros: GS protections, better planes
Cons: Long flight time, short connection
With AAs track record, I'd consider that a shorter connection, so unless you say IAH transfers aren't simple (never been) the connections are more or less even. Presumed delays makes the extra travel time with UA closer to an hour vs. 90 minutes. Since neither have another flight that night to protect you on, what the alternative would be should you miss your connection, should be compared as well.
If you can get the first 5 seats 1A, 1B, and all 3 Cs on the RJ145, it won't be that bad, 2 hours on a RJ175 is nothing to get excited for over an hour on a RJ145.

JFK-LAX 777-200 business
Or
PHL-JFK-LAX 32B First

Is the 32B first class worth the hassle of a layover?

Why do you want to fly First? If it's for the experience, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, Business is basically just as functional.

I’ve never done AA transcon in premium (though I’ve done United PS). It’s okay as a general rule.

MIA to TLV on 4/1 in Y. My choices are Air Canada via Toronto or United via Newark. I’m asking about flight experience, chances of cancellations and where would be safer from Coronavirus? Any help would be appreciated.

I would say that transferring in the US is a safer bet to get to Miami than transfering at YYZ. Once you are in the US, you should be safe.

Same logic. Stick with UA, no need to get Canada involved in your trip.

UA CLE-EWR $14 basic
UA CLE-EWR $28 2 seats in basic for an empty adjacent seat
UA CLE-EWR $49 E+, with likely upgrade to F
UA CLE-EWR $98 2 seats in E+, with likely upgrades to F,  for an empty adjacent seat

If it's even an option in your mind go for $14.

$49 E+ would be my pick. Unless it was something I was doing every other week.

Have an option to fly from PHL or EWR.

Pros of PHL:
  • Better airport IME (delays and crowds)
  • Cheaper easier parking

Pro of EWR:
  • 1 1/2 hours closer to NYC (need to go straight there upon return)

What would you do?
