Have an option to fly from PHL or EWR.

Pros of PHL:
  • Better airport IME (delays and crowds)
  • Cheaper easier parking

Pro of EWR:
  • 1 1/2 hours closer to NYC (need to go straight there upon return)

What would you do?
EWR.

Crowds and Delays are negligible these days.

Also you never know what traffic you may hit leaving PHL and on Turnpike.

sorry if the q is too broad, but i was wondering what are the products worth trying between NYC-GRU?

is AA F still a possibility? is it ever available in saver?

is LATAM J something special? (i know F is no longer available due to countless of @Dan posts and @AJK TR  :) )

etc. TIA

I run a service that delivers grocery orders from South Florida to Orlando.
I will be delivering everyday between Yom Kippur and Sukkos + the first day Chol HaMoed. I will be in Monsey for the first days of Sukkos and will therefore need to get back to South Florida on the first day Chol HaMoed (October 5th).

These are my two options:

F9 2961 11:30 AM EWR to MIA 02:39 PM $99
B6 0761 01:59 PM LGA to PBI 04:03 PM $104

I will be taking public transportation to my departure airport.

F9 Pros
1) I can use a $29 credit expiring in December.
2) Flight gets in at 02:39 PM allowing me to complete all my deliveries by 10 PM
3) 08:50 AM train from Spring Valley getting into Newark Airport at 10:10 AM is seamless.

F9 Cons
1) Requires davening Vasikin.
2) No time for breakfast
3) MIA is further away from Boca (pick up location).
4) 70 minute waiting time for flight at EWR.

B6 Pros
1) Calls for 11:30 bus departure to the Manahttan alowing for a nomal night sleep.
2) 30 minute waiting time at LGA Terminal A
3) Time for breakfast
4) PBI is closer to Boca Raton.
5) PBI is relatively small and convenient
6) LGA Marine Air Terminal

B6 Cons
1) Late arrival will mean deliveries completed by 12 Midnight.
2) Departing from LGA requires a Monsey Bus-Subway-MTA Bus connection.
3) Travel time to departure airport is is 40 minutes longer.
4) LGA Marine Air Terminal

Which flight do I take?

I cannot eat outside of a Sukkah. This also coming off a Simchas Bais HaShoeva.

But then the question is would people not order groceries if they know that their order will be arriving late?

Forgot it's Sukkos. While I understand the desire to abstain from it, תשבו כעין תדורו allows one to eat outside a sukkah while traveling.

I don't think 10pm or midnight would make a significant difference for most people (it's past dinner anyways), but I would probably prioritize Parnassa over Simchas Beis Hashoeva etc.

If you find availability, the cheapest is booking delta with 29,000 Flying Blue points. Transfer 1:1 from Chase or AMEX. 2nd option would be booking EL AL with 38,500 Qantas Points, transfer 1:1 from AMEX (if they’re back in business). 3rd option is United,  booking either with 40,000 Aeroplan miles, (1:1 from AMEX) or 42,500 United miles (1:1 from chase).

Well airlines are waiving change fees now, so just book something for around when you think you might need it, and then closer to the time, change to the date you need (just pay difference in fare if applicable).

+1
Book as far out as you think, and choose a cheap date (usually Shabbos) so you won’t end up paying more then the flight you end up taking.

JFK - CDG
Airbus A330-300  on Delta

I far prefer the AF777. As a ticketing carrier Delta is far better to deal with

Until you book a fully refundable fare with DL stock on AF metal through an OTA and then AF goes and takes control of the ticket, promptly changes it to a non-refundable fare making nobody actually able to cancel the ticket 🤦‍♂️

I don’t believe it on DL stock.
