mainly the ability to add room sensors. But also if you don't have a c wire then ecobee is better with the included power adapter kit.

yeah, I see that nest now has room sensors too. I see that the nest ones dont detect motion like ecobee which allows ecobee to get the temp right for the room that you are in at the moment (and learn when you are where in your home) but that isnt a huge deal especially since for many here you would shut off motion detection for shabbos.
