You create/produce/market Android/Ios Apps ?

If you answer 'yes' to one of the above, you must be frustrated like myself about the rating system in iTunes or Google Play.

Obviously a big factor in the popularity (besides the interest, solidity etc of the actual app) is the rating.
A great rating would mean many more downloads, and the opposite is true as well.

In my experience, the negative ratings I've received,  are left mostly with the sole purpose to either be mean, or by competition.

To counter that, I've come up with a solution, that I don't yet want to place here.

I wanted first and foremost see if there are like-minded people on DDF.

It's not just app stores, it's basically any rating system like that including selling on Amazon.

Cant agree with you more, works the same with a review on google, if your idea is a solution to all the crisis in the rating system then you better patent it first.

It's not just app stores, it's basically any rating system like that including selling on Amazon.

With a free app the chances are there's more biased reviews as it doesn't cost anything to leave a review versus a product which cost money or an app that cost money will have a bit more of honest reviews as it's not open to the public to leave reviews, meaning only those who are serious enough to go ahead and purchase the product.

True, however if someone paid, he will be more critical, and accept less flaws.
