If there was a good alternative for sure, but the 1.5x travel time to PHL isn't worth it for me.

Also wouldn't MIA be a potential spot  for AA to put in a flight?

If they would have done it before LY, might have been a good option. At this point I think they might be better off revamping their codeshare and other cooperation agreements with LY, so that LY can sell Lat-Am routes on AA, and AA can feed traffic to LY NA-TLV rather than only via LHR, CDG, ZRH/GVA and MAD (did I mention them all?). Then opening up PHL or ORD with LY codesharing on AA metal, might make additional sense. And maybe they partner again on miles earning and redemption.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

People going to Lat-Am would rather connect through Europe than through MIA. Must clear customs when connecting in MIA. This adds on extra time, and in some cases Visa's etc.

all speculation here
and your opinions dont really matter much apparently
also ORD is getting more slots... didnt AA finally agree to some concession or dispiute or something there about expansion?
