$0 annual fee cards with primary car rental insurance
« on: May 03, 2023, 11:40:57 AM »
Hello everyone,

I recently received a great offer from CarMax to sell my car, and I decided to take it and wait a few months for used car prices to drop before buying a new car. In the meantime, I plan to walk, use Uber, or rent cars when necessary.

However, I have noticed that none of my current credit cards offer primary car rental insurance coverage, and I am interested in applying for a new card that provides this coverage. My requirements for the new card are as follows:

1. The card must have a $0 annual fee since I am not a frequent traveler or hotel user, and the cost of the card would not be worth it for me.
2. The card cannot be a Chase card since all of my accounts with them have been closed.

Ideally, the card would also offer some everyday spending benefits or a cashback program since I plan to buy a new car in 3-4 months and will no longer need to rent cars.

Thank you for your help!

I think the Bilt card has primary insurance but I might be mistaken.

Based on trying to read their t&c, it seems like everywhere, aside from NYS if you have a primary.
In general, any "secondary" is primary if you don't have a primary

Cap1 Quicksilver?
Looks like it is secondary to any other insurance, no?
