What's "BF"?

I had W plush top mattresses for about 8 years and recently went for the Casper (the "Casper"). I find that it feels like sleeping on a foam padding compared to the brighter and more defined support of the W mattress. We're coming up to the end of 90 days and I'm thinking of returning. I bought it (+ sheets and pillows) using a $300 off $1,500 Amex offer on my SPG card, stacked with a 10% off coupon code.

I'm thinking of trying Nectar, a cheaper mattress in a box company. Nectar is not as well rated by Consumer Reports, but they have a 365 day risk-free trial period, so that's tempting.

Black Friday.

We just initiated a return on our Casper Wave.  Debating whether to try 'tipping' the got junk folks to possibly put them in my basement.

I think next I'll try Purple.

None of these beds in a box are going to compare to a traditional mattress.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

That's my worry.

Thus far, the Wave, which is supposedly Casper's best effort, didn't come close to my W Store Plush Top (which apparently has been discontinued).

Clearly they're designed differently so collapse and be vacum sealed into a box, but is it necessarily true that there are no sleepers for whom one of the beds in a box will provide a night's rest on par with a traditional mattress?

I believe Consumer Reports actually rates the "Casper" better than the more expensive "Wave".

Unless he's slept on it, how would he know? There's so much relabeling and marketing of mattresses, that I would not be surprised if there are multiple mattresses with that, or similar, moniker.

A new option I'm considering:

https://www.dreamcloudsleep.com/

Chief advantage: comes with euro top (something I have not seen with other bed in box companies), which I think is part of the reason our W Hotel store bed was so comfortable.
Other nice advantages: 365 trial period and much cheaper.

Think I'm leaning towards giving this one a go.

Should have done the Fairmont BF deal.
There are a ton Stearns & Foster Lux Estate models in all different price ranges. Mattresses is probably the most confusing trying to compare.

Most of these companies collude and scam. When a high ranking blog writes bad reviews they either buy them out or pay them off.

I'm aware. This article from last year turned me on to it: https://www.fastcompany.com/3065928/sleepopolis-casper-bloggers-lawsuits-underside-of-the-mattress-wars

In any event, why are you mentioning that with respect to that particular mattress brand?

Just a broad statement covering all of them to be aware of.
One of the main things with mattresses is how will they hold up after a few years. Unfortunately sleeping on them for x amount of months doesn't answer that question.

Returned casper. 800 got junk showed up, but during the course of my conversation with them, it became clear that the mattresses are counted and/or expected to be shipped back to Casper so the general idea would not have worked.

Got DreamCloud, and after waiting a while due to stock being low, and the jury still being out, I'm actually quite impressed so far.
