To save you time, here's a sum up of this thread. If you're getting married close to NYC (yes, Brooklyn is in NYC) - just go to the Andaz 5th. :)

REMEMBER: You must take your kesubah with you, or give it to someone to hold for you. The kallah has to know where it is.

I think it was called the jr suite. The thing was huge, two huge bathrooms, lrg living room, and decent sized bedroom.

Hi guys,

Getting married on Jan 4th, I know I may be late to finalize wedding night hotel details. But I was considering nabbing the hyatt card with the 50$ statement credit, and applying a free night to either the andaz 5th (crowd favorite) or the park hyatt nyc. This would be my first hotel rewards redemption and solo booking, so please forgive my naivety. I attempted to brush up on the multiple wedding night threads, but I still can't figure out if it is possible to call/email the hotel's GM before booking in order to upgrade "shop". Is this a thing?

Additionally, if we wanted breakfast, or a better chance at upgrading, does it make sense to find a diamond to book us? If so can anyone recommend said saviour?

Furthermore, with applying for the card today, when will I be able to apply the free night by? I am worried I will lose out on booking, though it seems that post new year's there is some more availability (judging by the nyc hotelweek promotions).

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can call and ask for an upgrade, but no guarantees.
I doubt you'd be able to get the card now and get the nights posted to your account with enough time to book a room, though. :-(
Diamond could help get breakfast, but they need to have a night in their account to use, I think. I don't think they can use their account to book you with your free night. I also don't think the breakfast is anything to write home about. Just bring some food in your bag with you.

Sheraton looks extremly unappealing and doesnt even look like it has nice suites other than the presidential. The Hilton though looks nice and im going to look into that, thanks

Near money also look into Tarrytown. Castle on the Hudson is pricey but really nice.

i spoke to the manager before and confirmed 4pm checkout. No upgrade as there is only one suite and it was booked though he booked the next largest room which was the executive king. I am not diamond just gold.
Manager seemed to want to help out as much as possible
