To save you time, here's a sum up of this thread. If you're getting married close to NYC (yes, Brooklyn is in NYC) - just go to the Andaz 5th. :)

REMEMBER: You must take your kesubah with you, or give it to someone to hold for you. The kallah has to know where it is.

Eh. What's not represented here are guys marrying girls in different cities.
I did. Spent the first 3 nights in her city in a great suite on the ocean. It was worth every penny.

Relaxing on that balcony with all the wedding and Sheva beach craziness was priceless.

if they cannot afford to get rid of their mice and cockroaches, they have a bigger problem on their hands that no suite will make up for.
Moving out of Brooklyn isn't an option for everyone..

May as well make nice with the mice and cockroaches now in their Brooklyn 1 bedroom apt costing $2k/mo.

If it's a new house that's one thing but of its not...
I guess you're 100% right. I've never seen a normal starter apartment in Brooklyn for under $2k/mo. Must've been my delusions thinking that there were places in Brooklyn without mice and cockroaches.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

On a totally different note, assuming the purpose of getting a room with tub is for the tub to get used and not just to be looked at, do people actually have an issue with using a bathtub in a hotel room? Do you assume that housekeeping thoroughly cleans it every day or do you plan to bring your own bathroom cleaner and ask your new wife (or husband) to clean the tub before using it...

obviously it depends on the hotel. The andaz 5th I assume that they clean it every time... On the other hand, Cove haven in the poconos I would not assume that they clean it

In perspective of a hole life, 2 nights in a hotel, makes no difference.

Eh. What's not represented here are guys marrying girls in different cities.

I dont get in what context your "Eh"ing.

There not present in discussions on DDF in general. This discution brings it out.
Most Casidim from BP or Wili dont even consider a hotel. Wedding night is very different.

Are you kidding?!? Where are you looking Bushwick? Brooklyn is expensive, but not that expensive.

just to balance things out a bit here...
im sure a hotel on a wedding night is all fine and dandy but there's something to be said for sweeping your brand new wife into your brand new home to start your life together in your own abode. no hotel staff or check in or splash or wow suites to distract from your delight at finally being HOME. just my $0.02.

My friend, no matter how much lipstick you lather on it, it's still a pig.

Ain't no convincing your wife it's *more romantic* and is a grander gesture to take her to your apartment than to a beautiful hotel.

It's not yet "home" at that point. Need to live there first to be considered home.

In your brand new home, you're probably distracted with all the boxes and wedding gifts that need toiveling and put away etc. Nothing like a nice hotel to focus on your spouse.
