To save you time, here's a sum up of this thread. If you're getting married close to NYC (yes, Brooklyn is in NYC) - just go to the Andaz 5th. :)

REMEMBER: You must take your kesubah with you, or give it to someone to hold for you. The kallah has to know where it is.

they don't really make suites with 2 beds unless you are fine with a rollaway

Right
Anyone ever heard of the carlton hotel (autograph collection)?

Once you're paying $300+15K for cat 7 C+P you might as well do the $500 Andaz for the full Splash suite vs a PH Jr suite IMHO.
Plus Andaz gives kosher brekkie without a fuss.

I hear the opposing argument (especially if you would use the PH pool), I just wasn't blown away by the PH.

Sorry, but am I missing something in terms of using a DSU on the Andaz 5th? A king room is 399 after taxes. How does it come out to 500+? Is that not considered their standard room?

It was $500 for the night he wanted. Prices change by the night.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Update I booked a night at the W hoboken (20k SPG which I value at $300) and emailed the assistant general manager for an upgrade to a wow suite

Hello High end hobo,

Thank you for reaching out! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials-we're thrilled that you have chosen to celebrate this momentous occasion with us!

Not sure if you were aware but we are in the process of renovating our guestrooms. I reviewed our renovation schedule and over the specific dates you have provided, our specialty Suites are actually scheduled to be renovated. For this reason I am unfortunately unable to accommodate your request this time.  However in commemoration of your wedding night, I have taken the liberty of upgrading your reservation to one of our Fantastic Suites which is highly requested by our wedding stay guests.

Our entire team truly appreciates your loyalty to us and we greatly look forward to welcoming you. If I can be of additional assistance in any way, please let me know.

All the best,

Helen

If anyone knows how to book the park hyatt suites for cheap, or has any other ideas for a double bed suite in the city points or cash, the help would be much appreciated!!! The conrad and kimberly are sold out....

Can someone provide an explanation of why Park Hyatt NYC is unbookable with points? Aren't there supposed to be no blackouts? Standard cash rates are available...

It IS bookable. Search tomorrow night 7/15/16.
Park King 30k or 15k+$300.

You found a night that there is Park King available for revenue and not points? (not Park Deluxe King).
Either way there likely is a 5 day minimum at times.

Is it available if you extend the stay?

yes but if you are willing to spend about $800 in your case you might as well stayin NYC and get the splash suite by andaz 5th for much less using a DSU
Is there a way for a someone without status to do this?

Booked a night for a friend at the Intercontinental Barclay. Newly renovated, and in a good location. Beautiful lobby too.

Plat status so got upgraded to larger room and drink vouchers. Wanted $500 extra for suite (booked with points).

Random data point: The Andaz Wall Street may be a great option to use a DSU (cheaper than Andaz 5th), however most of their rooms have glass bathrooms. You can request specific suites on the 7th floor that don't have the glass bathrooms, if you'd like to avoid that awkwardness.  :P
