To save you time, here's a sum up of this thread. If you're getting married close to NYC (yes, Brooklyn is in NYC) - just go to the Andaz 5th. :)

REMEMBER: You must take your kesubah with you, or give it to someone to hold for you. The kallah has to know where it is.

Embassy suites are just that. All suites.
There are many types of suites.
Presidential/Executive suites are not standard suites.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

Wedding night hotel SPG Please Help
« Reply #121 on: November 04, 2013, 11:21:13 PM »
Hi . I'm getting married next week and booked a newport king at the jersey city westin.

I told them I have a triple A discount (but I don't really)

I got it for 296 before tax.

Couple questions.

I only have 10800 spg points, the room is 14500. I was fr'ed by amex and failed and shut down my cards, so no legroom there.

Is there any way to get a AAA # and are they going to ask for it, or any other idea to get a nicer/better hotel or room for a better rate. Are there any jacuzzis in any hotel in jersey for under $500 (but not in a motel). is there a way to get a cot or second bed free?

Also, I have 16000 Chase ur.

I would really appreciate the help as I've done a lot of research and this is the best I could come up with and I'm involved in a lot of things for the wedding right now.

Thank you so much.

Welcome to the forums!
I have nothing to say on the matter, but would suggest deleting this thread and posting here.

Just because he's a chosson:) ur best bet will prob be to buy a Hyatt night off someone(about $200) to use in the nicest Hyatt in your area and you can prob get an upgrade by asking for one.

Second guest on a wedding night ::)

Have anyone checkin earlier in the day.
Just don't lose the keys!

Eh, better off having it registered under his own name and getting upgraded

Reading this thread makes me wish I would've known about DD when I got married. Back then, I paid over $300 for a JSO.  :'(

I did that once in a hotel and they did ask to see your AAA card in order to get the AAA discount.

I have a friend getting married in a few weeks and he was going to book a night in the Waldorf Astoria in Midtown.
Based on what I've read I don't think the Waldorf is worth the price.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for someone paying for a night at a hotel in NYC that will get him a nice room at a reasonable rate?

Thanks

Here's a question I've been dealing with when I booked my last couple of chassanim.
Would you rather a nice suite with a king size bed and spend the night on the couch or a regular room with two double or queen size bed.
I've been dealing with this as I haven't found any nice Hyatt hotels in NYC that have two beds in a suite.

Gonna need a poll for that one, how many needed the couch/extra bed on their first night :P

Probably true, but you should obviously still arrange for it just in case. You can argue though that one king + couch/rollaway is a better idea for that reason though.
