Topic Wiki

To save you time, here's a sum up of this thread. If you're getting married close to NYC (yes, Brooklyn is in NYC) - just go to the Andaz 5th. :)

REMEMBER: You must take your kesubah with you, or give it to someone to hold for you. The kallah has to know where it is.

I doubt anyone's gonna answer that one (not truthfully, anyway), but two data points:

1) I remember my chassan teacher telling me that in his experience, a whopping 98% of chassanim don't end up needing it. :o
2) Based on reports and anecdotes I've been hearing, more and more young couples actually avoid "needing it" on purpose (v'hamayvin yavin). :o :o :o

(Mods, feel free to delete this if you think it's any more inappropriate than Dan's post. :P)
I'm still a bochur so I don't know all that much about this but sometimes I book chassanim for two nights the night of their wedding and the next so they it seems would definitely want two beds it seems.

IMHO the best thing for WN is a Hilton homewood suites, you get a nice little apartment with a kitchen etc.
Leave the fancy rooms for later.

My not-so-humble opinion agrees, you'll enjoy the fancy rooms much more on the honeymoon...

Why is there a limit on how many fancy nights one can enjoy?

Spend 'em on the first night and by the time the honeymoon comes around, there's no reason why there can't be new points in your accounts :)

No, but it's really not that expensive I think the rooms go from $150 - 199

Right, that's what I see.

So the general consensus is that it's a bad idea to limo from Lakewood to NYC? Just find somewhere near Lakewood?

Definitely. Don't want to be sitting two hours in a car

Lol reminds me of my friend. He was taking a limo to the city and they got a flat, the guy claimed it would only take twenty minutes to be fixed. The next thing my friend knew, he woke up in the limo 4AM, he and his wife konked out and they were still waiting for the flat to be fixed!!! (he ended up getting out and taking a cab.)

Ok got it. Let's stay near Lakewood. Inn on Main looks nice, thanks DrDanny (and that's a good price)! Any other ideas for somewhere I could use my SPG or UR to stay at?

If you decide to go with them, you should know they have a secret 3rd floor which they will probably give you if you tell them it's your wedding night.
