To save you time, here's a sum up of this thread. If you're getting married close to NYC (yes, Brooklyn is in NYC) - just go to the Andaz 5th. :)

REMEMBER: You must take your kesubah with you, or give it to someone to hold for you. The kallah has to know where it is.

How would anyone find the foot under a massive gown without making a scene? ???
They usually know about it to put their foot out.

Either post what you're saying or don't post at all. Your holier than thou hints are not helpful
Why holier than thou? I just happen to have learned the sugyos in depth and trained under some of the bekiim.  I don't think this is the forum for all details, but I want people to know what there is to know

Okay, still haven't booked because I'm hoping to find something I can pay for with points (again, in Lakewood area). Wedding's in January so I really need to decide soon.

There are some hotels in Tom's River, which acc to Google is right next to Lakewood. Does anyone know anything about them? The "nicest" I found so far is a Ramada that has a king room with a Jacuzzi for $113. Is that going to be a joke because it's Ramada? Also, what points work with Ramada?

Forget about Jacuzzis on your wedding night.
Save it for the honeymoon.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I understand that (as others mentioned it before), just happens to be the Ramada's king room has one. Can Ramada be booked with UR/Starpoints? Do I want to avoid Ramada on a wedding night? lol

Now I know to avoid Ramada. Once I'm saving the nice places for the honeymoon, should I just pick any of the "inns & suites" in Tom's River so I pay with points? Other options suggested (The Bungalow Hotel, Inn on Main) were 1/2 drives and would cost $200.

Some say (joke) that it all goes downhill after the wedding night. Where will that leave you if your pinnacle is a Ramada Jacuzzi ?!?!

From a quick look on Kayak, it doesn't seem like there are many "points" options or "upscale popular brands" (nothing really in SPG, Hyatt, Hilton dept.) Appreciating right now the fact that I got married in NYC area :) What do people in Lkwd do?!?!

On Kayak there seems to be some "boutique" hotels within driving distance. If you are in Lkwd area I would say take a day and check them out. They seem to be priced pretty reasonably and with these type of hotels it is much easier to develop a relationship with management and get the exact experience you are looking for. While these may not have the "commercial" "big-time" setting a Ritz-Carlton may have, they could provide for a really great experience. You could end up really getting the "royal treatment" at one of these places for a lot cheaper than a 5-star NYC hotel.

For example check this place out: http://www.expedia.com/Freehold-Hotels-American-Hotel.h3827060.Hotel-Information?chkin=01%2F22%2F2014&chkout=01%2F23%2F2014&rm1=a2&hwrqCacheKey=2cf89add-7a50-470f-a143-75b9663aeebaHWRQ1386560037252&c=1b972209-0b5d-4560-a24e-558d8e8f1b32&

I even see a nice jacuzzi in one of the pics.

Not that expensive, close to Lkwd and may (I would check it out before) be really "quaint and nice"

IMHO if there is ever a time to "splurge" (that term differs for every individual) it is your wedding night. YOLO. (iy"h)

Wow! Thanks for looking into it! Yeah, from what I saw there are no big chains. Others have suggested other, similar boutique places within 1/2 drive. I guess it's just a matter of picking one. Thanks again!

Not a very good joke. With proper hadracha it keeps getting better, much better (though different) than anything served up on the silver screen

Not a very good joke.

Like most things in life if you take it too seriously you are in trouble. If you could joke about you are in a good place….At least that works for me...But as they say "different strokes for different folks…"
