....childish talking....
Look, I'm among the first around here to warn about danger, but this is just silly.
The IL govt has warned about the danger of Israelis traveling to there for months, that does mean that there is a level of danger and I'm not going to deny that, but elevating your view of the danger to a random inconspicuous tourist based on the suspected targeting of a high profile obvious target seems a bit reactionary to me. Honestly, thats almost saying Butler Pennsylvania is a dangerous place and you shouldn't travel there
Again, not minimizing the danger...

Reports are out that they were stalking him and planning this.
He was also an Israeli as opposed to an American.

Hashem should watch us!

So an american can feel safer ?

Yes, and someone who doesn't live there.

Ok, you are only proving the point that visibility is dangerous... what does that have to do with the danger to an inconspicuous tourist who does not contact theChabad, or act Jewish publicly?

bde on Rabbi Kogan I didnt realize there was a kosher store or i would have stopped in .
1 note i want to add to my trip report from a couple of months ago  a week after i came home i received another 50 dollar charge on my credit card from the rental place .I called and they emailed me a ticket i received. It turns out that on the ramp to the rental place i got a speeding ticket. The time stamp was 8 minutes before i closed out my rental and minus the time they spent looking up if i had tickets it's like 2 minutes before i returned the car. It was for going less then 20km over the limit .I thought i was safe up to 20 km over but apparently  that's not always the case
1 more not ei went to the pearl lounge in the abu dhabi airport. The reality is its really like 2 lounges .the priority pass portion which is very crowded and has  a long wait to get in and if you have a first class ticket then you can skip the line and you have  a separate lounge once past the entrance that is very nice very roomy and had very few people.

Planning a trip to Dubai next month. Wondering if anyone can help me get the best flights via points from TLV. I have several thousand Amex/Chase/Capital One points.

Additionally, anyone that was just there and can describe the kosher scene of restaurants and take out food following the murder of Rabbi Kogan Z"L?

Anyone reccomend a very good stay for points at a hotel in the "midst of it all" for first time visitor?

Some notes from my 48 hour trip to Dubai this week
Minyan (nothing noted publicy in Dubai, the multi faith complex in Abu Dhabi was too far to drive to and check out)
There are apparrently 2 minyanim (Pinto near the Burj and somewhere else on the Palm)
Restaurants that I visited:
Le Fournil - I had lunch here on the first day and came back for breakfast on the 3rd morning. Very good dairy, fresh baked goods opens at 8am
Cafe Bibi (Habibi) - in a shopping center near the Burj Khalifa, opens at 9am.  Mashgiach wasn't there yet, but they called him and he asked to speak to me (maybe to check if I was frum). He asked me to turn on the stoves and ovens.  This resulted in anything needing baking or a stove to be delayed by at least 30 mins, I had a smoothie and salad.  Was ok, but I went back to Le Fournil the next day for breakfast.
Le Boucherei (ex-Ellis) - the Elli's signs were still up, same decor and location in the Golden Mile.  But new MEAT and parev menu. good service, good food and beautiful setting.
Butcher's Burgers - I happened to have a meeting change to very nearby and I was peckish.  Ordered a chicken salad, super quick service.  It's a take-out place, you can sit at the tables of the mall food court.
Kikkos - also near the Burj Khalifa - they are almost ready to double their size with the location next door.  Lots of MEAT options, I and the table next to me, enjoyed the food, starters and drink options.

The kosher place is very near the airport - I didn't check them out
Mosaica - high end, didn't check them out

I was wearing my kippa at all times everywhere - no comments at all by anyone

Just to pick up on that and fill in the gap- I was in Mosaica last night. Open to 2am and people were coming and going at 11. On 31st floor of Sofihotel downtown so nice view if you sit by the window. Decent assortment of meat and fish dishes and somewhat pricy. We were there very late so we just had the salad and dips appetizer but it was more than enough for a light meal for 2.
