Something isn't adding up.... Shloimys is still supplying Seasons in Clifton, if they are owed so much why in the world would they keep supplying them?

Maybe they are getting paid COD as part of the bankruptcy process.

Cod?
I guess it's possible, although I was under the impression that the regulators keep a tight watch over all monies once bankruptcy is filed...

They also want the store to stay open.

It's called DIP (debtor in possession). Any new business done with the DIP is not part of the bankruptcy estate. It is presumably run by a responsible custodian.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Got it. Thanks for clarifying, always wondered how that worked.

So presumably any store still open is running a profit? Just not fast enough to make 25M back to pay off debts?
I'm not who you think I am.

Couldn't agree more. I don't think the one in Passaic ever made money. They were paying rent through the roof, and it just wasn't that busy....
The floor space is so huge that part of it is blocked. I went there a couple times and did not find Israeli tahini, cheese and shampoo. In addition, the prices are higher than at other supermarkets.

I was hoping that the deli would be a success as there aren’t any around the area.

Just adding a quick $0.02

- While people in the five towns, passaic, etc. have one less choice, people in Westchester (scarsdale) went from 2 to 1. (the other being New Roc Glatt in new rochelle). while the frum community isn't as huge, there really isn't anywhere to get kosher meat.

- I met someone on line in Evergreen who indicated that the Passaic store was still open.

So many more job options for them than for frum jews - you know that.

1) clifton store is open. 2) passaic/clifton only has two stores as well (including seasons)

Yup not to mention that Seasons forced the other store to up their game big time.... competition is always good.

I lived in clifton for over a year, walked into the other store less than 10 times. Really hope seasons stays around

Was bound to happen, don’t think they had a chance with the rent the were paying. There is suppposed to be another kosher store opening across from Primma Pizza.... we will see I guess.
