PSA: Seems like getting the rose version will update your agreement if you had previous PRG so be careful...

I ordered a rose card and asked when my annual fee would apply and I was told after the first year completes.

You can request a gold metal card, only if you requeste the rose gold will there be a charge in the agreement, depending on when the account was opened it might stay at $195 for the next year so make sure to ask the details of the agreement.
For myself I’m getting the rose gold and my fee is still staying $195 until 2020

The AF on my Plat just posted and I’m planning on canceling it. I want this card now. I have 5 AMEX credit cards and the Plat charge card. Should I cancel my Plat first, then apply for Gold? Or get Gold first, then cancel Plat?

Downgrade platinum to this. Unless you never had a gold bonus yet.

get gold first in case you have issues you can downgrade your plat. or you can downgrade plat after getting gold and end up with 2 golds

So the only reason not to change is if you want to keep gas bonus

It’s not an option. PRG’s are now Gold automatically. For the next few months it’s definitely an upgrade. After that the question is wether New benefits are worth $55 (definitely are in my case).

Check to see if it has lifetime language or not.

If your question is whether Amex will consider it the same product the answer is yes.
