iPhone battery replacement at Apple store

Has anyone replaced an iPhone battery at an Apple store recently? How was the experience? Looking at the reviews for the Apple store in Freehold it sounds like the customer service and process can be horrendous. Wondering if I should just send it to Apple and wait the 5-9 business days...

I went into freehold to replace my battery. They told me to back up my phone and I made an appointment. When I went to pick it up they told me the new battery didn’t hold so they gave me a brand new (refurb) phone. Some ppl have told me they would rather have the replacement worked but I was happier with this outcome. Practically brand new phone for $30

I had a similar situation but 2 months after the 90 days the refurb stopped working properly...

iPhones have battery issues , almost all mine had to replace battery. Are Samsung phones any better, I have experience only with iPhones.

Did the refurb phone come with a brand new battery. My phone is in mint condition but the battery is at 88% peak performance and it’s starting to have an impact. Definitely wouldn’t want a refurb with a used battery...

Wasn’t the battery on the refurb.... that’s my point. Sometimes the refurb is crap, and you have no way of knowing until it’s too late.

I replaced my battery on October 31 and battery health is down to 92% in less then 6 months. Is that normal? Any chance Apple will replace at no fee?

Normal, they won’t do anything unless it goes below 50% while you are covered.
