They pull from any of the 2 or both (in NY at least).

I froze my EX to make them pull only EQ. Worked like a charm for me.

Does having an old closed CC account on your report help you? I have 1 30 day late on it. Questions is do i get the whole account removed or not.

Is that your only negative?  How long since the late payment?

If there are other negatives on your reports, a 30 day late isn't going to make a huge impact.  If it is your ONLY negative, it will keep your scores down until it ages off.

After 7 years, the 30 will be removed and the account will turn positive, so you need to make the decision about how to approach it yourself.

Maybe someone can help me with this; My credit score on Amex recently went from 743 to 730, it's also 730 on citi and chase. I have no late payments, I'm using %18 of my credit line. I can't think of a reason why it should have dropped, any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
TIA
:)

You have to give some more details about your credit profile to get any meaningful answers.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Thanx.

She only has subsided student loans. The rest is paid via CC.
So this should not effect her credit in anyway?

I thought that too, but it was more than 18% a few months ago, if anything this happened when I paid up some of it.

Your credit age (oldest account and average age of accounts), number of open accounts reporting, types of accounts (e.g. revolving credit, charge cards, installment loans).....

18% of your credit line is a bit high

What's more important is how that 18% is allocated.

If that 18% is all on one card that is maxed out, it is going to be more detrimental than if that 18% is spread out over multiple cards.

If that 18% is spread out over every card, it is going to be more detrimental than if its just spread out over a few.

That might help with a thin file (no more loans).

Paying off the other loans won't do much. The damage has already been done for the new account, and will remain even when closed.

Her scores should recover by 6 months.

The only time positive installment loans can really hurt is if the balances are above the starting loan amount. Are her other loans unsubsidized? Did they update with added interest in the balances owed?
This is what discover says on her account. Should I pay off her student debt? Whats going on here. It does say deferred on her credit report.

PROPORTION OF LOAN BALANCES TO LOAN AMOUNTS IS TOO HIGH

The balances of your non-mortgage installment loans (such as auto or student loans) are high compared to your original loan amounts. As you pay down your loan your balance decreases, which reduces the proportion.

meaning with a cl of 5000 my spending should be under 500 a month on that card??
