You'd guess that, but with the way debts get bought and sold you never know what can happen.

What's a fake mortgage?
I assume do a real app for a mortgage you don't plan to take
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.

How can you see the ones they use?

If you buy all 3 from MF you'll also get the older scoring models. It will tell you which are used for mortgages.

EQ you can get for free from DCU.

EX you can get for free from PSECU. Don't believe what they tell you on MF, it is NOT EX 98. They are wrong.

Don't be alarmed, most people have lower scores compared to FICO 8. None of the mortgage scores go up to 850. Yes, you will find published information that says otherwise, but it is wrong.

So all the ads, info etc online that say you need a 740 or 760 for price rates is based on the 04?

What's a fake mortgage?
Get preapproved from someone online.  Have your realtor run a 3BM whatever.

You basically want a real estate coded INQ on each CRA.

As discussed, it's ideal to have at least some balance when the statement closes.

Does a balance from a BT satisfy that goal, or does it need to be from purchases? (Chase Freedom)
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Balance is balance.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Seems like its much simpler to just get Myfico package, no? Costs a few bucks but also avoids 3 inquiries? Or does the pre-approval not involve an inquiry?

MyFico isn't a hard inquiry.

So the pre approval has two advantages; it's free and you get the desired real estate related hard pull.

I don't think he meant the inquiries themselves are helpful, just the info you can get out of them
So the pre approval has two advantages; it's free and you get the desired real estate related hard pull.
Why would you want an extra hard pull?

Right but a hard pull is also negative.

To get all three FICO 04,  you'll probably have to buy the package from MyFico. They can actually vary quite a bit from your 08's.  The 04 model is what the $2 trick was developed from.

If you've ever had negative stuff like collections and stuff on your reports, you should do a fake mortgage app 6 months prior to your mortgage.  The CRA's offer collection services that companies subscribe to.  When you have mortgage INQ's appear, these send alerts to their subscribers and they try to nail you while your in the middle of your mortgage process.

Get preapproved from someone online.  Have your realtor run a 3BM whatever.

You basically want a real estate coded INQ on each CRA.
