DCU is EQ FICO 04.  So the whole $2 trick is extremely important.  I mean, if have an 800, maybe not.  But FICO 04 is extremely sensitive to utilization/number of cards with balances.
Sorry, whats FICO 04 ?
I have a score of around 790, but definitely have cards that have sat unused for months.

How long does it typically take TU to get back to you after you dispute AUs on a CR?

Fico 04 is the scoring model used generally for mortgages. fico 08 is used for auto loans and cc

Most banks can have it removed within 2-3 days. You can still call the bank.

Why do you prefer to call the bank? Less time consuming or because going through CB doesn't always result in them being removed?

Can I call bank to request they remove my closed account from CB?

A closed card isn't one of my favorites.

That how it works.
Make sure next month to end with a low balance and your score will recover.

In my experience, they remove right away and it gets reported to credit bureau when the statement closes.

How bad is the impact on credit score and on potential new cc or mortgage loans to have a card shut by the bank? Specifically where the bank closed a new checking account due to a large check with nsf and then decided to terminate the cc simple because it's a new account. Not sure what gets reported and how bad it is. I know the chexsystem will get hit, but I'm more concerned with credit report.

It will just show that the issuer closed the card. As long as the account was positive, it has no negative impact at all.

Remember that accounts get shut down all the time for inactivity, so there is no way for another creditor to draw a conclusion about a positive account with that notation.

So can I assume that the score I saw when I got my mortgage is in the same range as what I'll get with DCU ?
