I can also assure you that it is possible to get approvals with Amex, Chase and Citi with a lot of recent inquiries. When you get denied for inquiries, usually that's not the real reason.
what's with other lenders aren't others ,like credit unions, that are inquiry sensitive

What effect does the amount of inquiries have when applying for a mortgage?

On my recent mortgage, I had to explain any inquiries in the previous 120 days and whether or not they resulted in new credit.

Many CUs are afraid of a lot of open credit or recent credit, not inquiries.

Is that for inquiries and new accounts or just on the former?

Except Chase 5/24 cards, all of the above.

It's interesting to me. I have a pretty solid credit profile, my oldest account 21 years but I've hit a brick wall with Citi because of too many recently opened accounts.

Hard pulls are overrated. Cappy is correct. I have 31 EX inquiries after my approval today for the Amex SimplyCash Plus.

More like Amex is a joke. Go try to open a Chase card with 31 inquires and report back.

If you close them yourself, they usually don't FR you when reapplying a few months later.

What Chase card would you not do more then 5 pulls in 24 months for?

If that's the only reason currently to value inquires I imagine he got more from the 31 inquires then he would've from the Chase cards...
