Why would it look different than asking for credit on a new card?

Asking for both , might be a flag.

No. The $2 trick works best with 1 non-Chase card.

I left $3 on her Citi card , and will pay in full all her Chase cards that I handle  before statement closes .

Maybe that will help her Fico somewhat which should not be  bad because she has in excess of 30k CL with Chase alone .

For one time score, do i get anything extra by purchasing the FICO Score 3B Report (59.85) vs the FICO ultimate 3B (29.85) and just cancelling after a month?

Making someone an AU on a Business Platinum will/will not build her credit? Is it worth it to add as an AU or better to start with a student card like Discover or even a Macy's card? Any help on this topic is much appreciated.

I believe upthread someone said, that to get the age of the account added to their credit score, it dosn't work with AMEX as they report the account age from when the AU was added

Amex AU will show the date you opened the AU as the account open date. Other banks will show the date that you opened the account as the Open date on the AU as well.

I'm not sure which banks do this, I only have experience with BofA (and they did)

Cmiiw: Opening an Amex AU (with SSN) for them can still help them with getting approved for a Amex card later on as (I think) it gives you a "head start" in their internal system.

A. Amex Business cards don't show on the CR.

B. As others already mentioned, Amex doesn't backdate AU so s/he might as well open a secured/student card (which is better than just being an AU).

C. The best would be if you can make her as a joint AH on an old card.

Amex biz and all biz show on cr. They just don't report balances.

So the majority say rather do a student than open as an AU?

Why not do both? Also, if can be added to personal non-amex card would be even better.

No.

Most issuers do not report business cards to personal credit UNLESS you are delinquent.  Amex does not report.

If you have the ability to be added as an AU to old non-Amex personal accounts with perfect payment history and 0% reported utilization, do that before applying for anything.

Otherwise, to start out you should try the pre-approval tools for Amex, Chase, Citi, US Bank, Discover, BOA and Cap1.

Discover and Cap1 are known to approve with nothing reporting and Amex and Chase will approve with only AUs reporting.  YMMV on the others.

A little off topic:
If I would be a signer on a commercial mortgage, would it show up on my personal credit report as having an installment loan?
