A little off topic:
If I would be a signer on a commercial mortgage, would it show up on my personal credit report as having an installment loan?

I have no idea how commercial mortgages report, but I would assume that it would not report to personal credit.

Thanks.
And I would assume that just like with Biz cards, if it would be delinquent, then it would report, right?

It would depend on how the mortgage was set up.

They do request all income information for both the business and the signers. And they do pull the personal credit report/score.

I've never had a commercial mortgage.  I'm sure they check personal credit.

I know that they check it prior to approval. I'm just wondering how it affects the personal report after approval.
Thanks anyway.
And thanks for EVERYTHING so far!

If it doesn't report, the only impact would be the inquiries which count for almost nothing.

Thanks!  I try to contribute what I can here.

Collegegirl.  Stick with mendelsohn's (& the rest if the CB crew) opinion is a general rule here I think. However, if you want clear advice , maybe start off with stating which credit cards you currently have for yourself and then you can be advised which one to ad her as an AU on. (My experience with helping building credit is that I added family on to my old first cap1 & chase cards. TG  I have a  pretty good report from over the years and after about 3-6 months they were either targeted from banks or approved for the easier accepting credit cards)
Good luck

Has anyone recently been able to get an Amex AU account removed from a CR (EQ or EX)? I'm specifically asking when you're an AU on someone else's account (i.e. I'm an AU on my wife's account) and NOT when I'm an AU on my own account. Tried doing it for me and my wife and neither of them worked. The CB just "updated" the info and basically confirmed that it belongs on our CRs.

Are you AU with SSN? I just removed 5 amex au accounts from all 3 ca, with no issues.

How long ago? And how did you go about doing it?

Yes, with SSN. Could that be causing the issue?

I had it with SSN. I called EX and told them about X number of accounts that should not be showing as I am an AU on them. They noted and processed it. I checked back a few weeks later and they were gone.

IMHO. I disputed my au accounts this week. I said they weren't my accounts. I'm assuming amex couldn't confirm they were mine since all they had was my name, not my SSN. Don't know what happens with SSN though. Try cancelling the cards first, then disputing.

Were the accounts still active when you disputed them?

Good to know. I cancelled mine before the dispute just in case. Thanks.

How often does Amex check your score?
