Does a credit check from verizon, or direct TV regarding a internet plan affect your credit score ?
It's a hard pull.

You get a 4 year or 5 year loan with Alliant FCU that is secured against a deposit.  It can be $500.  Alliant does not hard pull for membership or the Shared Secured Loan.

You immediately pay back $460.  Alliant is fairly unique in that it will push out the next payment due for 3 or 4 years.  Also, when you pay off the $460, it frees that money up in your savings.

If you don't have open installment loans, getting an installment loan reporting can increase your FICO 08 scores from 20 to 40 points.  So you tie up $40 for a couple years, and pay like $8 in interest over the life of the loan.

BTW this really really works. Like 30 points increase

I did the same with a citi loan for $2k for 5yrs.
Paid back 91% after a few months, score increased about 30 points. Citi considers me paid up until late 2018, so now i can just let the loan sit without making any payments.

Point increase will depend on your credit profile.

not sure if this is the right thread. I "lived" by my sister for 1 day (changed my billing address to her house for a day). now she is getting tons of spam mail from credit card companies offering cc to every single one of my AU's! any ideas how to proceed? deal with amex? CB's?

Any valid reason why there is a 50 point discrepancy between TU and EQ (credit karma) and EX (experian free credit report)?

Yes they are FAKO's and mean nothing and should not be used for credit scores.

CK is garbage. Don't look at score.

Agreed but the FAKO's are based on something. Right?

The right to get your credit report for 60 days is after applying or after being denied?

Is it a soft pull or a hard pull ?
IIRC hard but pulls are no big deal.
